KlangKunst Choir

The cultivation of choir-singing, singing together, working hard on great and magnificent choral works as well as the planning, preparation and  performance of choral concerts are the core mission of KlangKunst (Chor/Choir)

KlangKunst im Pfaffenwinkel is a registered association and was founded in 2007.

For the first time in summer 2002 members of church choir St. Vitus and the Heuwinkl Band came together with other music-loving people of the village of Iffeldorf as a projekt-choir with Andrea Fessmann, to rehearse under her enthusiastic conduct the „Christmas Oratory“ of J.S.Bach. The marvellous success called for new projects.

Since then successful concert performances on various stages took place.

Amongst them: Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, also under the patronage of Orff's widow Liselotte Orff, Christmas Oratory and the Mathew Passion by J.S. Bach, Requiem and Coronation Mass by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The world premiere presentation of  Bach‘s “Christmas Oratory in Jazz transcription‘ was performed in 2016. This could be effectively reiterated in 2017 an 2018 in Herkulessaal at Munich Residenz.

In 2010 and 2016 the choir went on concert tours abroad to Granada, Andalusia/Spain. With an Italian partner-choir the Klang-Kunst gave a concert in Venice.

As a first non-resident ensemble the choir performed a much-noticed concert in the reconstructed and newly opened Leipzig University-Church of St. Pauli.

Along with the Iffeldorf Bach-Orchestra, the Stephan König Jazz-Quartet and wellknown soloists from Munich, Leipzig and Berlin the choir gave a highly respected concert of the ‘Christmas Oratory in Jazz‘ .

The year 2018 ended with „A German Requiem“ by Brahms.

In 2019 the choir raised its repertoire by Gioachino Rossini's wonderful „Petite Messe solennelle“.
