     Andrea Fessmann



Native-born of Bad Tölz she studied vocals at the conservatories in Munich. She attended advanced training classes with Prof. Markus Goritzki, classes and master-classes with Prof. Kurt Widmer, Anna Reynolds and the Hilliard Ensemble. In Vienna she completed an education in the Italian “Bel Canto” with Johannes R. Lobal. She is also teacher of the F.M. Alexander-Technique.

Besides being an active soloist in concert performances, such as  in the realm of oratory, carol and New Music, she is also a choir member of  Bavarian Broadcasting. Together with the trio “Laetare” (song, clanging stones and dulcimer) she is giving concerts internationally. Since 1986 she has been directing her own ensembles.

Under her conductorship great choral works from different epochs, i.e. J.S. Bach’s Passion of Mathew, cantatas and motets, Mozart’s Requiem, Händel’s Messiah as well as  C. Orff’s Carmina Burana were performed. At the  Granada archbishop’s invitation  the choirs gave concerts in the cathedral. On the calling out for a flashmob with Händel’s Halleluja she was honoured with the first Art Award of Benediktbeuern.

Beyond that Andrea Fessmann is a qualified vocal educator, giving voice training and is a lecturer for Alexander-Technique at the University of Music and Theatre in Munich. Since 2011 she has been the artistic director of the Iffeldorfer Meisterkonzerte.
